A brisk winter morning didn’t deter golfers from turning out in record numbers for Inverleigh Golf Club’s Annual Winter Stableford. Over 70 competitors braved the frost to take on the challenging layout, with conditions that rewarded patience and precision.
Linda Harper took top honours with a score of 39 points, mastering the tricky greens and setting a new benchmark for the event. Close behind were Tom Nguyen and Peter Wallace, who both delivered strong performances despite the blustery conditions.
The day ended with plenty of smiles (and a few hot chocolates) in the clubhouse, where members shared stories of lucky bounces and near misses. The committee congratulated everyone involved, particularly the greenkeeping team, whose hard work kept the course in top shape through the colder months.
As one member summed it up: “It might have been cold, but the camaraderie warmed us all up.”
