The Inverleigh Golf & Disc Golf Club proudly hosted the 10th running of the South West Classic Teams Event on Sunday, November 9, bringing together players for an afternoon of friendly competition, teamwork, and community spirit.
The event kicked off with player registration between 1:00pm and 1:20pm, followed by the much-anticipated team draw at 1:20pm. As always, the random team format added an exciting twist, pairing players of varying experience levels and creating a level playing field that emphasised strategy, collaboration, and adaptability.
Marking a significant milestone, this year’s South West Classic represented the 10th time the event has been played, a testament to its enduring popularity and the strong disc golf culture that continues to grow within the region. Over the years, the event has become a highlight on the club calendar, attracting both familiar faces and new participants eager to be part of the tradition.
Congratulations go to Ryan Hart, Tournament Director Hank Terpstra, and Jay Calnin, who combined brilliantly to take out this year’s title. Their teamwork, consistency, and shot-making set them apart in what was another closely contested edition of the Classic.
The success of the day once again reflected the welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that defines the Inverleigh club. Events like the South West Classic not only showcase competitive disc golf but also strengthen the bonds within the community, encouraging players to connect, learn, and enjoy the sport together.
With another fantastic tournament now in the books, attention already turns to the future. The club is excited to build on this milestone event and continue the tradition for years to come.
We’re already looking forward to the next South West Classic!
