The annual Inverleigh Spring Cup, held last weekend under clear blue skies, saw one of the most exciting finishes in recent years. With more than 60 players taking part, the course was in pristine condition, and the friendly rivalry between members created a fantastic atmosphere from the first tee-off to the final putt.
Local favourite James McAllister claimed victory with a steady round of 74, edging out Sarah Dalton by just one stroke after a tense final hole. Dalton’s impressive birdie run on the back nine had spectators on edge, but McAllister’s consistency under pressure sealed the win.
Following the tournament, players and families gathered at the clubhouse for a relaxed afternoon barbecue and presentation ceremony. Club President Mark Jensen praised the volunteers who prepared the course and thanked the community for their ongoing support. “Events like this remind us what makes Inverleigh Golf Club so special — the people,” he said.
